Two directly connected routers, R1 and R2, are both configured for OSPF graceful restart. R2 is able to switch packets in hardware, but R1 is not. If a network administrator logs on to R2 and performs a system reload, which will be the result?()
A . Traffic forwarded from R2 to or through R1 will continue to be forwarded based on the forwarding table state at the time of the reload.
B . R2 will continue to forward traffic to R1, but R1 will drop the traffic because its neighbor adjacency with R2 has failed.
C . R2 will continue forwarding traffic to and through R1, but R1 will drop this traffic because it is not capable of maintaining its forwarding state.
D . All the traffic R2 is forwarding to or through R1 will be dropped while OSPF rebuilds its neighbor adjacency and forwarding tables.

Much of a parent's job is to provide the gifts of caring, love, and emotional support to children. But one gift is often beyond their reach: the resources to meet the financial demands of college tuition.
For more than 54 years, the United Negro College Fund has fulfilled the dreams of deserving students by closing the gap between the cost of college and what their parents can afford. More than 300,000 students have graduated from United Negro College Fund member colleges since 1944, and 54,000 more axe currently enrolled (入学).
The oldest and most successful minority higher education support organization, the United Negro College Fund is a combination of 39 private, historically black member colleges and universities. Since its founding, it has raised more than $1.3 billion to keep the dream alive for needy families across the country.
What is it that makes the United Negro College Fund so important to America's families? As well as raising funds and giving technical support to member colleges and universities, it creates hope and opportunity by providing financial assistance to deserving students. Consider the contributions of just a few of the distinguished graduates who have realized the benefits: civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; opera diva Leontyne Price; Olympic track star Edwin Moses; and filmmaker Spike Lee.
Most parents feel embarrassed when their children graduate from high school because they can't ______.
A.afford their children's college tuition
B.offer their children emotional support
C.look after their children
D.give them gifts on their birthdays

Almost Human? Scientists are racing to build the world’s first thinking robot .This is not science fiction:some
say they will have made it by the year 2020.Carol Packer repots.
Machines that walk, speak and feel are no longer science fiction.Kismet is the name of an android(机器人)which scientists have built at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT).Kismet is different from the tradition。al robot because it can show human emotions. Its eyes.ears and lips move to show when it feels happy.sad or bored.Kismet is one of the first of a new generation of androids—robots that 100k like human beings—which can imitate human feelings.Cog,another android invented by the MIT, imitates the action of a mother However, scientists admit that so far Cog has the mental ability of a two year old.
The optimists(乐观主义者)say that by the year 2020 we will have created humanoids(机器人)with brains similar to those of an adult human being. These robots will be designed to look like people to make them more attractive and easier to sell to the public. What kind of jobs will they do? In the future, robots like Robonaut ,a humanoid invented by NASA,will be doing dangerous jobs, like repairing space stations They will also be doing more and more of the household work for US.In Japan, scientists are designing androids that will entertain US by dancing and playing the piano.
Some people worry about what the future holds:will robots become monsters(怪物)?Will people themselves become increasingly like robots? Experts predict that more and more people will be wearing micro-computers,connected to the Internet,in the future.People will have micro-chips in various parts of their body, which will connect them to a wide variety of gadgets(小装置).Perhaps we should not exaggerate(夸大)the importance of technology, but one wonders whether , in years to come,we will still be falling in love, and whether we will still feel pain.Who knows?

Passage Three:Questions 31 to 35 are based on the following passage. The way people hold to the belief that a fun-filled, pain free life equals happiness actually reduces their chances of ever attaining real happiness, if fun and pleasure are equal to happiness then pain must be equal to unhappiness. But in fact, the opposite is true: more often than not things that lead to happiness involve some pain.
As a result, many people avoid the very attempts that are the source of true happiness. They fear the pain inevitably brought by such things as marriage, raising children, professional achievement, religious commitment (承担的义务), self-improvement.
Ask a bachelor (单身汉) why he resists marriage even though he finds dating to be less and less satisfying. If he is honest he will tell you that he is afraid of making a commitment. For commitment is in fact quite painful. The single life is filled with fun, adventure, excitement. Marriage has such moments, but they are not its most distinguishing features.
Couples with infant children are lucky to get a whole night’s sleep or a three-day vacation. I don’t know any parent who would choose the word fun to describe raising children. But couples who decide not to have children never know the joys of watching a child grow up or of playing with a grandchild.
Understanding and accepting that true happiness has nothing to do with fun is one of the most liberating realizations. It liberates time: now we can devote more hours to activities that can genuinely increase our happiness. It liberates money: buying that new car or those fancy clothes that will do nothing to increase our happiness now seems pointless. And it liberates us from envy: we now understand that all those who are always having so much fun actually may not be happy at all.
第31题:According to the author, a bachelor resists marriage chiefly because ________.
A) he is reluctant to take on family responsibilities
B) he believes that life will be more cheerful if he remains single
C) he finds more fun in dating than in marriage
D) he fears it will put an end to all his fun adventure and excitement

英译中 Both language and culture are learned by children without special organized programs of instruction, but motivation to learn is very high since language is the most effective means for a child to obtain what he or she wants. If the learning of a new language begins before lower adolescence, one is likely to be able to speak such a language with complete naturalness, but if learned after upper adolescence some hangover of a mother-tongue feature is very likely to persist. But not only do languages exhibit such learning patterns, but so do cultural traits, for example, shaking hands, kissing, and embracing.
Although many persons assume that languages exist in dictionaries and grammars, in fact they only exist in people's heads. But this is equally true of cultural traits, which indicate clearly a they only exist in people's heads. But this is equally true of cultural traits, which indicate clearly a person's value system when crucial decisions need to be made before there is any time to think about alternatives, for example, diving into a flooding stream to rescue a drowning child.

I haven抰 been fishing since I was a child, but I抦 sure I could remember how to do it. I wouldn抰 miss watching television or driving my car. This book may not change your life. But if you have a tendency to be messy and have already broken your new year resolutions to be neater in future, it will certainly make you feel better about your natural inclinations. Untidiness, hoarding, procrastination and improvisation are not bad habits, the authors argue, but often more sensible than meticulous planning, storage and purging of possessions.
That is because the tidiness lobby counts the benefits of neatness, but not its costs. A rough storage system (important papers close to the keyboard, the rest distributed in loosely related piles on every flat surface) takes very little time to manage. Filing every bit of paper in a precise category, with colour-coded index tabs and a neat system of cross-referencing, will certainly take longer. And by the end, it may not save any time. Your reviewer's office is easily the most untidy in The Economist (not entirely his own work, it should be said, thanks to the heroic efforts of his even untidier office-mate). But when it comes to managing information, there seems to be no discernible difference in the end result.
The authors of this book trawl the furthest reaches of psychology, management studies, biology and physics to show why a bit of disorder is good for you. Chiefly, it creates much more room for coincidence and serendipity. Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin because he was notoriously untidy, and didn't clean a Petri dish, thus allowing fungal spores to get to work on bacteria. He remarked wryly on visiting a colleague's spotless lab: "no danger of mould here".
It can also help make sense of things. Hearing depends on random movement of molecules: when they coincide with sounds from outside, they are strong enough to stimulate the inner ear. A bit of background noise on the phone enables our ears to filter out echoes. A slightly mushy photograph can be easier to understand. Music and art depend on mess.
Procrastination makes sense too. America’s Marine Corps, the authors repeat (several times), never makes detailed plans in advance. Leaving important things to the last minute reduces the risk of wasting time on things that may ultimately prove not important at all.
The authors are witheringly contemptuous of the bogus equation of tidiness and morality—for example in corporate "clean desk" policies. Disorder and creativity are so closely linked that any employer who penalizes the first sacrifices the second, they argue. America's professional organizers, a thriving and lucrative cult of tidiness coaches, are merchants of guilt, not productivity boosters.
It's all fine, up to a point. But the book has two weaknesses. One is that it overstates the case. The case for tidiness in some environments—surgery, a dinner table or income tax returns—is really overwhelming. The other is that the book is a bit repetitive and disorganized. Even readers who love mess in their own lives don't necessarily like it in others.
Paraphrase the sentence "the tidiness lobby counts the benefits of neatness, but not its costs". (para. 2)

听力原文: It would seem that there are three kinds of travel books. The first are those that give a personal, subjective account of travels which the author has actually made himself. If they are informative and have a good index then they can be useful to you when you are planning your travels. The second kind are those books whose purpose is to give a purely objective description of things to be done and seen. If a well-read, cultured person has written such a book then it is even more useful. It can be classified as a selective guide book. The third kind are those books which are called "a guide" to some place or another. If they are good, they will, in addition to their factual information, give an analysis or an interpretation. Like the first kind they can be inspiring and entertaining. But their primary function is to assist the reader who wishes to plan in the most practical way.
Whatever kind of travel book you choose you must make sure that it does not describe everything as "marvelous'', "fabulous" or "magical". You must also note its date of publication because travel is a very practical affair and many things change quickly in this century. Finally, you should make sure that the contents are well presented and easy to find.
How many kinds of travel books are mentioned in the passage?
A.Two.
B.Three.
C.Four.
D.Five.

Are you worried by the rising crime rate? If you are, then you probably know that your house, possessions and persons are increasingly in danger of suffering from the tremendous rise in the cases of burglary and assault. Figures indicate that there is an ever-increasing crime rate but it is only too easy to imagine "it will never happen to me". Unfortunately, statistics show that it really can happen to you and, if you live in a large city, you run twice the risk of being a victim.
Fortunately, there is something definite which you can do. Protect Alarms can help to protect your house with a burglar alarm system which is effective, simple to operate and easily affordable. You must re-member that possessing a burglar alarm is no indication that your house is packed with valuable possessions. It quite simply indicates to unwelcome visitors that yours is one house they will not break into easily, so they carry on to an unprotected house where their hob is made a lot easier.
Send now for our free leaflet telling you how we can protect your house quickly, easily and cheaply. Complete and tear off the slip below and post it to us. Postage is free. Alternatively, televice. It costs nothing to find out about Protect Alarms.
Anyone who takes an interest in the crime rate will, according to the text, be aware that ______ .
A.more burglars are being caught that ever before
B.people have more possessions to worry about nowadays
C.burglars are more at risk that they used to be
D.homes are more likely to be broken into nowadays

Gro Harlem Brundtland made her comments to the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland recently. She described a number of health programs expected in the coming years. However, Doctor Brundtland said the WHO' s 191 member countries must support the programs and put them into action. With this support, she said the WHO could reduce the number of deaths caused by malaria, AIDS, tuberculosis and other infectious diseases. She also said the death rate for pregnant women and babies could be reduced.
Doctor Brundtland told W-H-O members that good health is linked to economic and social development. For example, she described how smoking tobacco threatens to reduce the resources of all countries, especially developing countries. The World Health Organization estimates that four million people die each year from diseases linked to smoking. The organization expects that number to rise to ten- million a year in the next thirty years. Most of these deaths are expected in developing countries.
Which of the following infectious diseases is not mentioned in the report?
A.Malaria.
B.Enteritis.
C.AIDS.
D.Tuberculosis.
